January 11, 2005
Arroyo Colorado Steering Committee and Workgroup Members, It is the New Year and we already have a lot planned for the Arroyo. Tomorrow, January 12, 2005, I will be presenting "A Watershed Plan for the Arroyo Colorado" as part of the IBWC Citizen Forum. The forum will be held in Weslaco at the Hoblitzelle Auditorium at the Texas A & M Agricultural Research and Extension Center located at 2415 S. Highway 83 in Weslaco, Texas. The meeting is from 4 pm to 6 pm and provides a great opportunity to promote our watershed planning process. During the last update, I attached HB2919 which states the protocol and requirements of the advisory committees for the State. This time I have attached the Arroyo Colorado Watershed Steering Committee Ground Rules. At the end of these rules you will find a list of our 24 member advisory committee. A special task group will be reviewing this list and then suggest individuals that would be willing to be active participants in the planning process. Again, please let me know if you would like to be part of this task group.
The Outreach and Education workgroup will be meeting Tuesday, January 18, 2005 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm in Harlingen on the Texas State Technical College (TSTC) Campus. I have sent out a separate meeting announcement and agenda to our O&E work group members. Please let me know if you are interested in participating in this work group or would just like to attend one of our meetings.
Take care and I hope to be hearing from you,
Laura De La Garza
