June 7, 2012
Hello Arroyo Partners:
It has been unseasonably hot here in the Rio Grande Valley for the last couple of weeks. With Hurricane season already here, you have to wonder what is worse, the drought or the threat of a Hurricane. A small, rain making, tropical storm would be nice right about now but like the saying goes, “Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it”!
I want to remind everyone that the ACWP will be holding two of their Work Group meetings in July.
The Arroyo Colorado Habitat Workgroup meeting will be held on July 19, 2012 from 2-4 pm at the Estero Llano Grande World Birding Center located at 3301 S. FM 1015, Weslaco, TX
The Arroyo Colorado Steering Committee meeting will be held on July 19, from 5-7 pm after the Habitat Workgroup meeting. Members of the TCEQ Nonpoint Source Team and TMDL team will be in attendance at both meetings to discuss options to addressing the bacteria impairment in the watershed so please make every effort to attend. We will also be discussing several important topics involving the ACWPP update, fundraising and upgrading the AC website. Food and refreshments will be served from 4:30-5:00 pm. The meeting will also be held at The Estero Llano Grande World Birding Center.
If you have any topics or suggestions to include on the Agendas for the upcoming workgroup meetings please call or send me an e-mail.

That lunker bass I have been stalking keeps eluding me. After failing once again to land the behemoth, I figured that he was on to me. I decided to give him a break and go fish for some trout and reds in the beautiful Lower Laguna Madre. I will have some pictures at the Habitat and SC meetings.
