April 8, 2013
Hello Arroyo Partners:
The drought situation here in the Rio Grande Valley is getting worse. A cold front blew through the Valley last week and did lower the temperatures but did not bring any rain and we are expecting record breaking heat all of this week. After weeks of negotiating, Mexico has agreed to release some water into the Rio Grande River. Initially, everyone was relived until it was determined that the size of the release would not help very much. So once again, our public officials are urging Mexico to release enough water to get us through the summer. I will keep you posted.
I want to make a special announcement; now available on the Arroyo Colorado website: Water Trends Maps and Water Quality Data. This exciting new feature allows you to see water quality trends and data from the various monitoring stations along the Arroyo. Check out this great new resource.
