December 20, 2016
Hello Arroyo Partners:
Well it took until Mid-December but it finally got really cold here in the RGV. An artic-blast, cold-front blew into the RGV early Sunday morning and dropped the temperatures down to the low 40’s with frigid sustained winds in 30 mph range. The weather prognosticators have forecasted that the RGV will be back in the mid 80’s by Wednesday.
Please mark your calendars for the upcoming event:
- RGV Cotton and Grain Growers
The 23nd Annual RGV Cotton & Grain Pre-Plant Conference is set for Tuesday, January 17th, 2017 at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show Event Center in Mercedes. We are lining up outstanding speakers to address timely topics specific to cotton and grain production in the Valley.
The Annual Meeting of the Cotton & Grain Producers of the Rio Grande Valley will be held at noon. Come support your growers association!
TDA continuing education credits will be offered. The program agenda will be out at a later date.
The Reds are “running”. This cold weather has gotten the redfish all riled up and feeding and heading out to the deeper, warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. A lot of reds are being caught. I am going to head out to the jetties to try my luck.
