Arroyo Colorado Watershed Partnership Work Groups
The Partnership is structured in a way that allows discussion and input from all participants while retaining the ability to make decisions in an organized and timely manner. Members of the Partnership participate in decision-making through work groups that focus on issues affecting the health of the Arroyo Colorado. Work groups report to a steering committee composed of Partnership members with diverse backgrounds and interests.The steering committee receives recommendations from work groups and makes decisions on behalf of the Partnership based on these recommendations.
Agricultural Issues Work Group
The Arroyo Colorado Agricultural Issues Work Group (AGWG) was formed to identify and address agricultural nonpoint source pollution in the watershed.
Habitat Restoration Work Group
The Habitat Restoration Work Group was established to protect the remaining natural habitats in the watershed.
Education and Outreach Work Group
The goal of the Arroyo Colorado Watershed Education and Outreach Plan is to help address the low dissolved oxygen and high fecal bacteria in the Arroyo Colorado by increasing public awareness and fostering local stewardship in the watershed.
Wastewater Infrastructure Work Group
The Wastewater Infrastructure Work Group was established to document the permitted point sources wastewater treatment facilities (WWTFs) being discharged into the Arroyo Colorado and work to establish more stringent discharge permits for existing WWTFs.
